After several weeks of figuring out reliable transportation and proper equipment for unloading, the containers have finally arrived to our kitchen site in Tijuana.  While it took a bit longer than we expected, it was well worth the wait.  Since several of our initial shipping options fell through, we approached some Mexican shipping companies expecting to pay upwards of $3,000 for shipping, import duties, and crane rental fees.  In the end however, God gave us favor and we ended up having all the transportation, equipment and labor donated to us by some generous businesses in Mexico.

On the day of delivery there were lots of folks on hand to watch the massive crane offload and maneuver the containers onto the foundation.  Now that the containers are here, the word is out that Outside the Bowl is committed to building a kitchen in Tijuana, and everyone, from community members to the local government, is excited to see the kitchen in action.

There is still a lot to do to get the kitchen running.  Yet, as of right now, we still need more hands to do it.  Please contact us to see how you can help.
