Starving 2 Serve
We are dedicated to helping to alleviate hunger around the world and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. In our effort to do even more, we have developed a unique five-week curriculum for youth groups called Starving 2 Serve (S2S). This program offers a unique way for students to gain a Biblical perspective on hunger and what God expects from each of us in addressing this issue.
"Starving 2 Serve is a great tool to teach our kids about world hunger and poverty, and allows them to see that they can tangibly make a difference in the lives of kids their own age who are far less fortunate.”
-Chris Brown, Senior Pastor, North Coast Church
The program includes:
- An in-depth, five-week Bible study curriculum for youth groups
- An exciting fundraising activity to help feed the hungry in your community and around the world
- Resources for a weekend group Hunger Strike including all the forms and activities
- A great way for your group to learn, have fun, and make a difference
- And it is all FREE
The S2S Hunger Strike event is more than just another fast or famine weekend to raise money. Yes—it is to raise money, but not for just one organization. Rather, the funds raised through the S2S event are divided to help both the needs of those internationally, and those in need locally—the hungry right in your own back yard.
We call this the 50-50 split. This means that 50% of the net proceeds raised will go to Outside the Bowl in support of its efforts around the world, and the local leaders of S2S will receive the other 50% of the net proceeds to use as you see fit in your local community. We believe that this adds a missing piece and allows the participants to see firsthand what their fund raising efforts can do right in their own neighborhoods. In most cases it leaves an indelible impression with the students and truly brings home what is studied in a very meaningful way.
If you are interested in getting your FREE copy of the curriculum, or you just want to learn more, then simply email Becky Rosaler and she will follow up with you promptly.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and helping your group make a difference in the world and in their own neighborhoods.
